Sculptures

...These witty and challenging works raise a number of profound questions about the nature of art and images. Even the identity of the artwork is thrown into questions: does it consist of the construction itself, with it's references to the tradition of abstract art, or of the shadow, which can only be seen from a particular angle? The answer, of course, is the two together; Mr. Adams performs a neat end run around stale arguments pitting objects and images against one another by pointing out that it's the intelligence, behind the art that counts the most.
